Watt Brothers Sandy and James Easdale have unveiled plans for a £20-million development of an old Glasgow shop that they plan to turn into a boutique hotel.
The blueprint for the retail business' future was submitted to Glasgow City Council this week regarding a building application.
Planners will look at "retention of retail use to basement, ground and first (mezzanine) floor on North Building (corner of Sauchiehall Street and Hope Street)".
There will be a redevelopment of full-purpose South Building (corner of Bath Street and Hope Street) and north storey of the North Building into the Hotel "as well as an" upward expansion of both of the buildings and a connecting bridge."
The McGill's Buses tycoons agreed on saving the monumental building in conjunction with management company Watt Brothers, KPMG.
