Interview Tips & Tricks

Interviews can be a nerve-racking experience for anyone. Here are some of our expert consultants’ top tips for getting the most out of your interview!
- Interviewers make up their mind about a candidate within minutes of meeting. While this may seem unfair, it’s only human nature to gravitate towards people you identify with. For optimal results ensure you are dressed appropriately – this can mean different things for different interviews! If you’re unsure, it’s better to be over dressed, than underdressed!
- Simple body language can have a huge impact. Sitting up straight instead of slumping will give the interviewer a keen impression. Even easier; smile! Coming across happy makes the interviewer more inclined to want to spend more time with you (i.e give you the job!)
- If more than one person is interviewing you, DO NOT attempt to determine who is the most important. Ensure that you address all member interviewing you equally.
- Ensure you are as prepared as possible. Having a good general knowledge of the company is hugely beneficial. Give their website a quick scan for info. Read back the job description so that you can phrase your answers accordingly.
