Profits down at Pizza Express

Due to costs of doing business in the UK rising, Pizza Express’ profits are down by 8%. The restaurant is now focusing on improving its existing sites, rather than expanding.

CEO, Jinlong Wang, said: "We are taking a measured approach to growing our business in the UK and Ireland,"

"We are now planning to focus our capital investment on upgrading our existing estate rather than adding more sites."

The restaurant chain has added numerous vegan options, new cocktails and refurbished some restaurants. Sales grew by 3% in the first half of the year.
